And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alvaro Sanz!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonard is looking to clinch but Sanz is avoiding it.
Sanz feints the counter takedown.

Sanz is pushing down on Leonard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leonard is fighting to maintain full guard but Sanz has managed to sneak the leg through.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sanz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sanz goes for a double leg but Leonard avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Leonard continues to drive forward.
Leonard is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Sanz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leonard's waist but Leonard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanz off to one side.
Leonard appears to be looking for a big counter.

Nice takedown defense from Leonard. No joy for Sanz on that attempt.
Sanz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Leonard but Leonard pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Leonard jumps guard but Sanz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Leonard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanz closes the distance and clinches up with Leonard, looking for a takedown. Sanz pushes Leonard against the cage but Leonard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sanz moves out of range as Leonard strikes.
Leonard tries to clinch but Sanz moves out of range.
Leonard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sanz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leonard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanz somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Leonard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sanz uses from the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Leonard is looking to clinch.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanz is defended easily by Leonard.
A little feinted left hand from Leonard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Shaun Leonard is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Sanz tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Leonard avoids it.
Sanz lands a right hand.

I would just about give that final round to Alvaro Sanz.
