The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poirier lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Poirier.
Mistry fails to land with a series of punches.
Poirier drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mistry sprawls and moves away.
Mistry fails with an attempt to clinch.
Poirier avoids a punch combination nicely.
Poirier throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mistry wants to clinch up but Poirier keeps it at a distance.
Mistry connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mistry throws a series of punches but Poirier moves out of range.
Mistry rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Poirier counters with a stiff right hand.

Mistry cracks Poirier with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Poirier is defended easily by Mistry.
Poirier connects with an inside leg kick.
Mistry connects with a single shot there.
Poirier slips a jab from Mistry.
Mistry moves out of range of the strikes.

Poirier gets a takedown into half guard.
Mistry wants to stand back up but Poirier manages to pass into side control.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mistry looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! A very excited looking Anton Poirier rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
