PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eugenio Dillon (ranked 24335 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Carson (ranked 5046 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eugenio Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Carson!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carson rushes Dillon and presses him up against the cage.

Dillon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Carson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dillon.
Dillon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carson is fending him off so far but Dillon persists. Nope, Carson circles away and we're back to standing.

Carson clinches.
Carson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Carson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dillon gets tackled into the cage by Carson. Carson maintains the clinch.

Dillon pulls guard effortlessly.
Carson throws a big elbow that misses.
Dillon wants to improve his position but instead Carson has moved into half guard.

Carson is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dillon is trying to stand.
Dillon regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Carson.
Dillon can't keep his opponent in guard - Carson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Well, if Carson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dillon is trying to escape back to his feet but Carson uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Carson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Carson decides to stand back up. Carson steps back and let's Dillon get back to his feet.
Eddie Carson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dillon to the ground. Carson is now in Dillon's guard.
Carson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dillon wants to stand up but Carson is controlling him.
Carson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dillon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Carson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Carson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Carson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Carson stands up and beckons Dillon to join him on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Carson has closed the distance and engaged Dillon in a clinch.
Dillon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carson walks away with a smile on his face. Dillon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Carson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dillon throws his legs up looking for a submission but Carson uses it to pass to side control.
Dillon is breathing heavily.
Dillon seems a little lost for a moment, as Carson dominates the positioning.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carson slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Dillon.
Carson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dillon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.


Dillon is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Carson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Dillon gets caught flat footed, as Carson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Oh Dillon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carson passes into half guard.
Carson slows the pace down in half guard.
Dillon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carson on the ground.
Carson lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Dillon quite badly. Dillon pulls Carson in close trying to recover. Carson postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Dillon on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Dillon doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Carson!
