Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zangief Smashterov (ranked 3568 p4p, 132 weight class) and Basil Valdevino (ranked 4105 p4p, 157 weight class). Smashterov comes to the cage accompanied by Rock you like a hurricane-by THE SCORPIONS. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zangief Smashterov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Basil Valdevino!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdevino waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smashterov.
Smashterov pushes Valdevino away with a front kick.
Valdevino wants to clinch but Smashterov slips to the side
and Smashterov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Valdevino tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Smashterov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Basil Valdevino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valdevino throws a looping overhand right but Smashterov ducks down to avoid it.
Valdevino throws a predictable looking body shot
and Valdevino takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Basil Valdevino has been cut.
Valdevino looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Smashterov throws a front kick that sends Valdevino stumbling back into the cage.
Valdevino takes a swing at Smashterov's ribcage but misses.
Smashterov scores with a jab to the jaw.
Smashterov misses with a left hand

and Valdevino counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Smashterov blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Smashterov manages to break the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Valdevino swings away with a body shot that misses
and Smashterov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Valdevino is rocked!
Smashterov and Valdevino are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Smashterov throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Valdevino into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Smashterov knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Zangief Smashterov!
A less than humble Zangief Smashterov misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
