PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ted Lewis (ranked 3035 p4p, 266 weight class) and Light Weight (ranked 3796 p4p, 314 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ted Lewis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ted Lewis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Weight to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Ted Lewis has been cut.
Lewis looks to land a combination but Weight avoids it well.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Weight! But no joy.
Lewis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Weight looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Lewis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Weight moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lewis throws a series of punches but Weight avoids them all with ease.
Weight swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Weight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab.
Lewis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Lewis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Weight.
Weight dodges the punch combination from Lewis.
Lewis lands a nice looking body shot.

Weight moves into the clinch successfully.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Weight.
Weight tries to work over Lewis's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Weight lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Lewis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Oh Lewis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lewis wants to break the clinch but can't.
Weight pushes Lewis back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Weight dips a shoulder and cracks Lewis with a mighty uppercut! Lewis falls back against the cage and Weight unloads with a barrage of strikes! Lewis is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Weight screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
