Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jim Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Moore!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moore looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Moore circles away from the clinch attempt

and Moore counters with a single leg into guard. Saunders didn't expect that.
Saunders will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Moore tries to free his leg and advance position but Saunders is retaining full guard.
Moore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Moore wants to control from the top but Saunders keeps moving.
Moore passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moore winds up and cracks Saunders with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Saunders keeps working.
Moore perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Saunders is in trouble now - Moore has advanced to mount!
Saunders punching to the body and holding on for dear life.
Moore content just to control the position here.
Moore has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Saunders is trying to stand.

Moore is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Moore clinches up with Saunders and pushes him back against the cage.
Moore is struggling to control the position.
Moore stops a takedown attempt from Saunders.
Moore is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Saunders is trying to break the clinch but Moore is controlling him.
Saunders has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Moore avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Saunders lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Moore wants the takedown. Saunders is fighting it off but Moore persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saunders's guard against the cage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Moore's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Saunders can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Moore controls the pace.
Moore postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moore working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
We've been informed that Moore has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Moore is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Moore pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Saunders is keeping the position for now.

Moore looking to sit in guard and control but Saunders gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moore looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Moore holds on and takes a little breather.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Saunders is looking to work some ground and pound but Moore has wrist control.
Moore utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moore gets the takedown into side control.
Saunders is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Moore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saunders, who protects the arm well.
Moore slows the pace down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moore has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Moore has Saunders up against the cage in a clinch.

Saunders is looking to break free of the clinch but Moore has double underhooks.

Moore breaks from the clinch.
Moore throws a leg kick that is checked
and Saunders counters with a left and a right that stings Moore.

Saunders pushes Moore up against the cage in a clinch.
Moore changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Saunders fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Peter Moore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moore closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Moore. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Moore lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Moore slows the pace down in half guard.
Moore missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moore thows a huge punch but Saunders dodges it nicely.

Moore wants to take a breather but Saunders is having none of it.

Moore seems to be looking for submissions.
Saunders trying to control from the bottom.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Saunders is not content to let Moore control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Moore closes this distance looking for a takedown but Saunders circles away.
Moore is breathing heavily.
Saunders stuffs the takedown attempt from Moore. Moore gets slowly back to his feet.
Jim Saunders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Moore.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Moore misses with a head kick.
Moore falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Saunders to counter with a crisp jab.
Moore shoots for a takedown but Saunders saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Saunders throws a big counter combination but Moore scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Saunders throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Moore.
Moore with a lazy takedown attempt
and Saunders counters with a left and a right that stings Moore.
Saunders is looking to slow Moore down with leg kicks.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moore closes the distance and clinches up with Saunders, looking for a takedown. Moore pushes Saunders against the cage but Saunders circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saunders fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Saunders will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Saunders shoots in for a takedown but Moore shows good takedown defense.

Moore closes the distance and clinches.

Saunders escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Moore misses with a low kick.
Saunders stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saunders wants it to stay on the feet.
Saunders appears to be looking for a big counter.

Moore clinches.
Moore is looking to break free of the clinch but Saunders has double underhooks.

Saunders tries to pull guard but Moore forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Saunders with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Saunders manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Saunders is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Saunders. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Moore has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Saunders uses from the top position.

Moore is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Saunders is aware though and is defending well.
Moore takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Moore wants to sweep but no luck.
Saunders wants to stand but Moore has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Moore escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saunders gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Saunders tries to stand but Moore is controlling from the bottom.

Moore throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Saunders accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Peter Moore has got the better of the ground game so far.

Saunders scoring with punches to the head and body.
Saunders loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Saunders makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Saunders is looking to stand up but Moore won't let him.
Saunders in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jim Saunders is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moore gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Saunders makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Saunders keeps Moore at a distance using the push kick.

Moore tries to land a front kick but Saunders steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moore.
Moore gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Saunders thuds his shin into the meat of Moore's side.
Moore throws a head kick that misses.
Jim Saunders is winning the standup battle so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Saunders clinches up with Moore and pushes him back against the cage.
Moore wants to break the clinch but can't.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jim Saunders showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Saunders has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
