Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jenova tries to avoid it but Newton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jenova to the ground. Jenova escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Newton counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jenova!
Jenova is trying to improve his position.
Newton tries to advance to mount but Jenova denies him.
Jenova is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jenova wants to control but Newton postures up.
Jenova tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Newton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Newton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Newton prevents Jenova from improving his position.
Jenova won't allow Newton to pass to mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Newton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Newton seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Jenova has recovered full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Newton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Newton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jenova is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Newton dives in and grabs Jenova's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jenova pushes down on Newton's head and hops out.

Newton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jenova defends well and Newton ends up having to push Jenova into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Newton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenova ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Newton moves away.
Newton tries to counter with a takedown but Jenova is quick to defend against it.
Newton avoids the head kick by Jenova.
Newton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jenova.
Newton walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jenova.
Jenova turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Newton has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Newton there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jenova looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jenova fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Newton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Newton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jenova won't be happy with that.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenova is looking to reverse the position.
Jenova is not content to let Newton control the position.

Newton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenova is trying to control Newton's posture but Newton avoids it.
Jenova manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jenova wants to control but Newton is keeping busy.

Newton is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jenova is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
