Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smith (ranked 3725 p4p, 485 weight class) and Ed Landry (ranked 2841 p4p, 391 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with Therion - Sitra Ahra blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Landry's choice of entrance music: Ride Wit Me - Nelly. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Landry!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Landry moves out of range easily.
Smith misses with a hook.
Landry misses with a wild combination.
Landry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.
Landry dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Smith. That did some damage!
Landry misses with a two punch combination.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Landry moves away.
Smith on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

It looks like Mike Smith has been cut.
Landry thows a leg kick but Smith checks it
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Landry throws a combination that misses
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ed Landry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Landry throws a combination. Smith tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Landry throws a leg kick
and Smith counters with a flying knee. Nice.

letting Smith counter with a right hand.
Smith closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Smith is rocked!
Landry connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Smith to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Landry!

Ed Landry decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
