Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Breeze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Lee!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Breeze fails with an attempt to clinch.
Breeze tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Breeze gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lee to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Breeze keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Breeze is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Breeze wants to stand and escape but Lee is having none of it.

Breeze trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Breeze keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Lee prevents Breeze from getting back to his feet.
Breeze wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lee manages to pass to side control.

Breeze is defending against the submission attempts here by Lee.

Breeze manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lee keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Breeze breaks the clinch.

Breeze drops Lee with a left and a right! Oh, Lee is hurt - Breeze dives into side control looking to finish!


It looks like Freddy Lee has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Breeze decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Breeze misses with a combination

and Lee counters with a single leg into guard. Breeze didn't expect that.

Breeze pushes Lee off and gets back to his feet.
Breeze throws a poor cross that misses

and Lee counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Breeze!
Breeze is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lee is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee swings around for an armbar but Breeze sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lee's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lee is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee trying to control but Breeze is working from the bottom.
My spies in Steel's Grappling Penn inform me that Lee has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lee won't allow Breeze to get back to his feet.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee looking to pass the guard.
Lee wants to control from the top but Breeze keeps moving.
Lee won't allow Breeze to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Breeze dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Freddy Lee's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lee with a poor takedown
and Breeze counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Breeze, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Breeze against the cage but Breeze circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Breeze pushes Lee up against the cage in a clinch.
I was talking to Breeze's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Breeze breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Breeze defends it nicely.
Ben Breeze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Lee.
Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Breeze sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
Breeze scores with a jab to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breeze throws a lazy right hand but Lee sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Breeze punishes Lee's body with a nice straight punch.
Breeze keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Decent striking displayed by Breeze there.
Ben Breeze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Breeze clinches with his opponent.
Breeze is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Lee tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lee blocks a body shot from Breeze.
Breeze gets underhooks to prevent Lee's takedown attempt.
Lee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Breeze is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Breeze's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Breeze catches Lee napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Lee to the canvas!


Lee is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Breeze gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting.
Lee is still on wobbly legs! Can Breeze finish him?

Breeze gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Breeze manages to break the clinch.

Breeze clinches with his opponent.
Breeze throws a big uppercut that drops Lee! More strikes from Breeze and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Lee lies dazed against the cage as Breeze celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Breeze!
