PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Sturd Jr (ranked 618 p4p, 82 weight class) and Andre Haack (ranked 1153 p4p, 152 weight class). Sturd Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Waka Flocka Flame - 50K (Neon Dreams Remix). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Sturd Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 2, fighting out of New York, Andre Haack!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturd Jr throws a series of punches but Haack avoids them all with ease.

Haack manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Haack throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Haack throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

We've been hearing reports that Sturd Jr has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Sturd Jr will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Jason Sturd Jr has been cut.

Sturd Jr goes for a double leg but Haack avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Haack continues to drive forward.

Sturd Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sturd Jr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Haack tries to avoid it but Sturd Jr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Haack to the ground. Haack escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Haack isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sturd Jr stacks Haack on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sturd Jr!

I would just about give that final round to Andre Haack.
I think Sturd Jr has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
