Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gray Maynard !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micah Hays!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hays is looking to clinch.
Hays avoids a kick to the body.
Maynard gets tackled into the cage by Hays. Hays maintains the clinch.
Maynard misses with a body punch.
Hays tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Maynard .
Still in the clinch, Hays scores with a nice short uppercut.
Maynard tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Maynard jumps guard and drags Hays to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Maynard keeping moving, preventing Hays from controlling successfully.
Hays sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Maynard 's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Maynard 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Maynard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hays pulls his head out easily.

Hays tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Maynard misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hays tries to pass to full mount but Maynard defends it.
Maynard is pressing down on Hays's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hays trying to control the position from guard on top but Maynard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hays content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Maynard has locked up a guillotine! Maynard 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hays is holding on here and Maynard must be using up a lot of energy. Hays has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Maynard gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
