Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hideo Sakurai (ranked 3364 p4p, 159 weight class) and Sebastian Shot (ranked 3056 p4p, 143 weight class). Sakurai comes to the cage accompanied by Freestyle - Don't Stop The Rock. Hideo Sakurai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Hideo Sakurai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastian Shot!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Shot throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A little feinted left hand from Sakurai on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Shot lands a lovely overhand right.
Shot lands a body shot.
Sakurai misses with a hook.
Shot throws a jab when Sakurai was well out of range.
Sakurai on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Shot lands with a nice body punch.
Shot lands a slapping body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shot connects with a crisp jab.
Shot misses with a double jab.
Shot waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sakurai.
Sakurai moves out of range of the strikes.
Shot's coach down at Soul Supremacy Rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shot's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shot with a jab.
Shot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sakurai swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sakurai takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
An attempted straight right counter from Sakurai misses the target.
A right-left combo lands from Shot.
Shot throws a series of punches but Sakurai moves out of range.
Sakurai misses with a straight right.
Shot throws a big shot that misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Sakurai misses its target.
Shot wants to clinch.
Shot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sakurai was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shot lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Shot fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sakurai, pushing him back against the cage.
Sakurai misses with a punch to the body.
Shot blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Shot jumps guard but Sakurai stands there with Shot around his waist. Shot gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shot ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shot no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shot trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sakurai knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shot on the ground.
Sakurai won't allow Shot to sweep him here.
Sakurai pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shot is keeping the position for now.
Sakurai trying to control the position from guard on top but Shot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shot pushes a forearm under Sakurai's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sakurai is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sebastian Shot!
A very excited looking Sebastian Shot made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
