Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tarek Hamdi (ranked 4835 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Norambuena (ranked 7217 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamdi has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Tarek Hamdi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Diego Norambuena's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamdi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Norambuena paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hamdi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Norambuena swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hamdi.

and Norambuena counters by moving into the clinch.
Hamdi is pressed up against the cage. Norambuena has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hamdi down to the mat. Hamdi avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hamdi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Norambuena swivels and escapes.

Norambuena is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hamdi asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norambuena is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norambuena wants to control but Hamdi postures up.
Norambuena really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamdi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Norambuena shoots in and drives through. Hamdi sprawls well.
Hamdi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Norambuena tries to avoid it but Hamdi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Norambuena to the ground. Norambuena escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hamdi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hamdi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Norambuena uses from the top position.

Norambuena has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Norambuena goes for a takedown attempt but Hamdi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hamdi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Norambuena smiles and moves away.

Norambuena jumps guard but Hamdi stands there with Norambuena around his waist. Norambuena gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hamdi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Norambuena is just riding it out for now. Hamdi eventually gives up the hold.

Norambuena is trying to maintain the position but Hamdi is very close to passing his half guard.

Norambuena is trying to control Hamdi's posture. Hamdi takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Norambuena! Hamdi is rotating here... this could be the end... Norambuena is out! Hamdi has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
