Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Leonard (ranked 25377 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Sparrow (ranked 5786 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shaun Leonard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Sparrow!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leonard gets a takedown into half guard.
Sparrow wants to stand back up but Leonard manages to pass into side control.

Leonard stands up and beckons Sparrow to his feet.

Leonard gets the takedown into side control.

Leonard thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Leonard decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sparrow to his feet.
Leonard really is a fat lump.

Leonard shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sparrow is trying to defend but Leonard finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Sparrow tries to kick Leonard off but Leonard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Leonard decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Sparrow uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Leonard.
Leonard is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sparrow.
Sparrow swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Leonard throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
It seemed like Sparrow was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Leonard instigates a clinch.
Sparrow prevents Leonard from breaking the clinch.
Leonard takes a shot to the head.
Sparrow has Leonard pressed against the cage, preventing Leonard from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Sparrow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Leonard misses with the combination.
A little jabbing left from Sparrow on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sparrow blocks a head kick by Leonard.
Leonard tries for a takedown but Sparrow circles away easily
and Sparrow counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sparrow slips a jab and a cross from Leonard.
Leonard closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sparrow circles away.
Sparrow wants to counter with a clinch but Leonard pushes him away.
Leonard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sparrow circles away quickly and effectively.
Leonard is breathing heavily.

Leonard closes the distance and pushes Sparrow back into the cage.

Sparrow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sparrow tries to keep at a distance but Leonard has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sparrow manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Leonard clinches with his opponent.

Sparrow breaks from the clinch.

Leonard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sparrow wants to get back to his feet but Leonard is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaun Leonard dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Leonard moves into the clinch.
Leonard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sparrow smiles and moves away.
Leonard shoots in looking for a takedown but Sparrow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Leonard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sparrow wants to counter the offense by Leonard and move into the clinch position.

Leonard pushes Sparrow up against the cage in a clinch.
Sparrow stalling in the clinch.
Leonard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sparrow can do to turn this around?

Sparrow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
An inside leg kick lands from Leonard.
Shaun Leonard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leonard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sparrow tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Leonard is in Sparrow's guard.

Leonard stands up and waves to Sparrow to follow him.

Leonard moves into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sparrow breaks from the clinch.
Sparrow dodges the punch combination from Leonard.
Sparrow is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Leonard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Leonard is trying to break the clinch but Sparrow is controlling him.
The referee calls for Sparrow to work.
Sparrow lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Leonard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sparrow uses from the top position.
Sparrow's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sparrow trying to stand up but can't free himself from Leonard's guard.
Sparrow wants to stand and escape but instead Leonard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Leonard won't allow Sparrow to get back to his feet.

Leonard decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sparrow, up you get!

Leonard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leonard lands in his opponent's guard.
Leonard won't allow Sparrow to get back to his feet.

Leonard gets to his feet. Sparrow looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Leonard clinches up with Sparrow and pushes him back against the cage.
A short left from Sparrow.
Sparrow lands a nice uppercut.


Leonard is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Leonard is trying to break the clinch but Sparrow is controlling him.
Oh Leonard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sparrow unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Leonard! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Sparrow is unloading with more strikes now! Leonard drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Sparrow!
