PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Temujin Borjigin (ranked 7843 p4p, 656 weight class) and Jah Wobble (ranked 1633 p4p, 198 weight class). Wobble has chosen Passage to Hades as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Temujin Borjigin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jah Wobble!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wobble shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Borjigin as he jumps to the side.
Borjigin lands a glancing blow to the side of Wobble's head.
Wobble takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The fighters circle momentarily. Borjigin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wobble keeps the fight on the outside.
Borjigin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wobble in his tracks.

and Wobble counters with a nice double leg into side control. Borjigin won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

You can see the frustration on Borjigin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
My spies in Island Safe Space inform me that Wobble has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That was a close round but I would say that Temujin Borjigin will probably get the nod.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Borjigin holds on and takes a little breather.
