Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Golden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dimitar Stoichkov!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoichkov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Golden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stoichkov scores with a nice right hand.
A punch lands to the side of Golden 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Golden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dimitar Stoichkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoichkov throws a hook but Golden blocks it.
Golden showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stoichkov.
Golden is looking for a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab from Stoichkov misses.
Stoichkov lands a nice hook to Golden's body. Golden takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stoichkov works Golden's body with a nice hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Golden is defended easily by Stoichkov.
Stoichkov looks to land a left hand but Golden moved out of range nicely.
Golden shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Stoichkov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stoichkov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Golden uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stoichkov.
Golden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Golden takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Golden closes the distance looking to clinch
and Stoichkov counters with a right hand to the body.
The fighters circling - Stoichkov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Golden on the wrong end of a nice jab.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Golden.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stoichkov is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Golden like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Golden from another fist facial!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dimitar Stoichkov!
