Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bessandro Kennelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jamaal Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennelly scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Bessandro Kennelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kennelly drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kennelly looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kennelly pulls Anderson in close to prevent any damage.

Kennelly is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kennelly fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Anderson is out of range.
Kennelly looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Kennelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anderson as he jumps to the side.
Kennelly tries to close the distance and clinch but Anderson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kennelly gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Kennelly drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anderson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Anderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Anderson prevents a body shot from Kennelly.

Kennelly jumps guard and drags Anderson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kennelly throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Anderson escapes and throws Kennelly's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Anderson wants to take a breather but Kennelly is having none of it.

Kennelly has a hand on Anderson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Anderson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Kennelly wants to hold on but Anderson pushes him away.
Kennelly is squirming around, avoiding Anderson's attempts to control the action.
Anderson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Kennelly is wriggling around trying to escape.

Anderson goes for an armbar but Kennelly turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kennelly.
Anderson looking for a sweep. Not yet Anderson, not yet.
Kennelly throwing strikes from guard but Anderson blocks nicely.
Anderson wants to stand but Kennelly is controlling the position.

Kennelly throws a strike but Anderson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kennelly is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard.
Kennelly is looking to control Anderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kennelly avoid being mounted?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kennelly is pressing down on Anderson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kennelly has control of Anderson's left arm, preventing Anderson from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kennelly wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Anderson, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kennelly fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Kennelly tries to score with some ground and pound. Anderson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Kennelly digs a good hook to Anderson's body.

Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kennelly is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Kennelly circles away and we're back to standing.

Anderson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kennelly is on him like a limpet, forcing Anderson back against the cage.

It looked like Kennelly was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Anderson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kennelly smiles and moves away.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kennelly as he avoids it easily.
Kennelly is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Kennelly dives in and grabs Anderson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes down on Kennelly's head and hops out.

Anderson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Kennelly has managed to clinch.

Kennelly decides to pull guard.
Kennelly is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Anderson lands a couple of elbows.
Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Kennelly is retaining full guard.

Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kennelly swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kennelly, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
