Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dony Piitpitunge (ranked 3899 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lisandro Avellaneda (ranked 8555 p4p, 0 weight class). Lisandro Avellaneda looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piitpitunge closes this distance looking for a takedown but Avellaneda circles away.
Avellaneda looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Avellaneda has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Piitpitunge finds it's way round the side to connect with Avellaneda's head.
Piitpitunge moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Piitpitunge dives in and grabs Avellaneda's left leg, looking for a takedown. Avellaneda pushes down on Piitpitunge's head and hops out.
Piitpitunge fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Avellaneda now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Avellaneda's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Avellaneda's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dony Piitpitunge. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Piitpitunge moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Piitpitunge's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avellaneda wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Avellaneda stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Avellaneda dodges an elbow strike from Piitpitunge.
Avellaneda fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Piitpitunge has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Avellaneda uses from the top position.
Piitpitunge pulls Avellaneda in close to prevent any damage.

Piitpitunge looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Avellaneda is defending well. Piitpitunge quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Avellaneda has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Piitpitunge celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
