Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Diego Norambuena (ranked 8239 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Varela (ranked 3856 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varela takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Norambuena closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Norambuena is trying to pull guard but Varela turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Varela ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Varela no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Varela wants to stand up but Norambuena is controlling him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Varela shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Norambuena defends it nicely.
Norambuena went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Varela tries to score a power double leg takedown but Norambuena sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Varela somewhat.
Varela will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Norambuena is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Varela shoots for a double leg takedown but Norambuena sprawls well. He's pushed Varela 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Varela changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Norambuena tries to avoid it but Varela manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Norambuena to the ground. Norambuena escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Norambuena will probably get the nod.

Varela shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Norambuena but Norambuena pushes him off and we're back to square one.

It looked like Norambuena was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Norambuena closes this distance looking for a takedown but Varela circles away.
Varela shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Norambuena sprawls well. Norambuena wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Varela gets slowly back to his feet.

Varela is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
