Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kassius Halo (ranked 3852 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Cross (ranked 22389 p4p, 0 weight class). Kassius Halo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kassius Halo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charlie Cross!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Halo scores with a jab to the body.
Cross swinging wildly here.
Halo shoots in but Cross avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Halo was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross.
Halo fails with the takedown
and Halo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kassius Halo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Halo is looking to clinch but Cross is avoiding it.
Halo with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Halo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cross but Cross pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cross swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Halo shoots in and drives through. Cross sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halo fails with a takedown attempt.
Halo throws a combination that misses
and Cross connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cross misses with a looping right.
Halo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Halo misses with a wild body shot.
Charlie Cross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Halo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Halo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Halo drops an elbow to the side of Cross's head.
Cross is trying to control but can't.
Halo is trying to control the action in half guard but Cross is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Halo is really struggling to control Cross but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Cross is looking to control Halo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cross avoid being mounted?

Halo seems to be working for a kimura but Cross defends the submission attempt.
Cross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Halo is thwarting Cross's attempts to control the position.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Halo connects with a nice short shot to Cross's temple.

Halo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Halo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cross is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cross looks like he's trying to stand up.
Halo lands strikes from half guard.
Cross preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
We've been hearing good reports from Halo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Halo wants to work for an arm triangle but Cross is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Halo lands with a punch from half guard.
Halo winds up and cracks Cross with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cross is looking to control Halo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cross avoid being mounted?
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Halo lands a nice short elbow.


Cross is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Halo moves into full mount! Cross won't be happy about that!
Cross is still in real trouble! Can Halo finish him?
Halo loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Cross scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Halo land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Halo stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kassius Halo!
As Kassius Halo got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: There isn't a fighter alive that I cannot make submit or go to sleep on the mat. There's no guessing, i will take you down.'.
