Alexandrov rushes Vaziri I I I and presses him up against the cage.
Vaziri I I I wants to break free but Alexandrov has control.

Alexandrov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alexandrov manages to end up in side control.
Vaziri I I I wants to control but Alexandrov postures up.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Alexandrov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Alexandrov fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Alexandrov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vaziri I I I is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Alexandrov throws a strike aimed at the side of Vaziri I I I's head but Vaziri I I I avoids it well.
Vaziri I I I is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Alexandrov off and has taken his back!
Alexandrov tries to roll but Vaziri I I I sticks to his back.

Alexandrov tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Alexandrov is controlling an arm, preventing Vaziri I I I from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Alexandrov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alexandrov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've been hearing good reports from Vaziri I I I's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Vaziri I I I has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alexandrov is working away from the top position though.
Alexandrov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vaziri I I I with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
