With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Suayngarm Pumphanmuang!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong throws the kick towards the body but Pumphanmuang avoids it.
Kong sets himself, and Pumphanmuang steps forward looking for the clinch! Kong avoids it this time.
Kong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pumphanmuang tries to clinch up but Kong circles away and keeps his distance.
Good leg kick by Kong there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kong throwing a counter right hand but Pumphanmuang manages to avoid it.
Pumphanmuang steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kong. That one must have hurt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kong connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pumphanmuang. Pumphanmuang circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pumphanmuang shoots in but Kong avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Krom Kong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Suayngarm Pumphanmuang.

and Kong counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pumphanmuang is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kong lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pumphanmuang backs up against the cage.
Kong lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kong lands with a nice combination. Pumphanmuang backs away looking to recover.

Krom Kong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pumphanmuang chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kong can pounce on him.

Kong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Kong feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Pumphanmuang crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Krom Kong!
A relieved looking Krom Kong thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
