The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gagiev swivels and escapes.
Burns tries for a takedown but Gagiev circles away easily
and Gagiev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gagiev lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Burns fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burns with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gagiev to score with a decent uppercut.

and Gagiev counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Burns thinking.

and Gagiev counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gagiev avoids it really well and circles away.
Burns doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gagiev counters with a three punch combo that has Burns backing up. Burns nods at Gagiev to acknowledge the strikes.
Burns is rocked!

and Gagiev counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Burns! He's just covering up as Gagiev starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
