PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Harmon (ranked 5892 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Lee (ranked 6572 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Harmon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Lee!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Harmon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lee won't allow Harmon to sweep him here.
Lee trying to control but Harmon is working from the bottom.
Harmon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Harmon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Lee closes the distance and pushes Harmon back into the cage.

Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Harmon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Harmon is proving hard to escape from.

Harmon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lee is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harmon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.

Harmon lands a couple of digs.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harmon is working Lee over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Harmon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lee wants to control from the top but Harmon keeps moving.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lee moves out of range as Harmon strikes.

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lee wants to take a breather but Harmon is having none of it.
Lee scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Lee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harmon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lee prevents Harmon from standing back up.
Harmon won't allow Lee to pass to mount.
Harmon is trying to stand up here but Lee is controlling him well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Harmon enables Lee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Harmon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lee trying to control but Harmon is working from the bottom.
Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Harmon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lee has picked Harmon up and slammed him! Harmon can't keep hold of the triangle and Lee manages to pass to side control!

You can see the frustration on Harmon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lee taking a break here but Harmon is having none of it and regains half guard.
Lee stalling.
Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lee winds up and cracks Harmon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lee tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Lee is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Harmon looking for submissions off his back.

Lee seems to be working for a kimura but Harmon defends the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harmon regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Harmon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Lee throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Harmon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Harmon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Lee takes the fight into the clinch.
Harmon fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Lee successfully pulls guard.
Harmon trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lee wants to sweep here but Harmon controlling him for the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harmon's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Harmon wants to stand and escape but instead Lee has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Harmon wriggles free and stands up.

Harmon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Harmon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
Harmon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lee is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lee regains half guard, as Harmon was trying to land strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harmon is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.
Lee blocking the ground and pound attempt from Harmon.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harmon is trying to control. Lee wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lee keeping hold of Harmon's head, controlling as best he can.
Harmon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lee's head.

Harmon throws a strike but Lee manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Harmon tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!
