Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Claud Snow (ranked 24560 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent Ruta (ranked 5741 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Claud Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trent Ruta!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruta moves into the clinch.
Ruta stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Snow tries to break free but Ruta pushes him back against the cage.
Snow is looking to break free of the clinch but Ruta has double underhooks.

Ruta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ruta has managed to clinch.

Ruta turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Snow is looking for a sweep.
Snow is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ruta is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Ruta takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Snow is looking to improve his position but Ruta isn't that keen on the idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ruta is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Snow to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Snow shrugs it off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snow wants to improve his position but Ruta is controlling well.

Snow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ruta doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ruta manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Snow is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ruta is aware though and is defending well.

Snow had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ruta defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ruta sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Snow's guard.

Snow is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ruta pulls his head out easily.

Snow is breathing heavily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Trent Ruta dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ruta pushes Snow up against the cage in a clinch.

Snow jumps into guard, dragging Ruta to the mat.

Ruta got a little sloppy there for a moment and Snow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ruta has managed to get both his arms back between Snow's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ruta in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Ruta decides to stand back up. Ruta steps back and let's Snow get back to his feet.

Ruta closes the distance and clinches.

Snow wants the takedown. Ruta is fighting it off but Snow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ruta's guard against the cage.

Ruta has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Snow has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Ruta keeps control of Snow as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Ruta breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ruta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Snow paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Snow throws a big counter combination but Ruta scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Snow has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Ruta drives through and clinches with Snow against the cage.

Ruta pulls Snow into guard.
Snow preventing the sweep.
Snow controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ruta wants to hit a switch here but Snow passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Ruta there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ruta working to try and regain half guard.
Snow looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trent Ruta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Snow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Snow has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Claud Snow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Snow dives in and scores a takedown into Ruta's guard.

Ruta has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Snow off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Ruta tries to clinch there but Snow circles away.
Ruta tries to bum rush Snow with a series of wild strikes but Snow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Snow appears to be looking for a big counter.
Snow swats away the attempt to clinch by Ruta.

Ruta moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ruta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Snow shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Snow tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Snow sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Ruta is looking for a sweep. Snow is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Snow is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruta has a good base and remains in mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ruta controlling his opponent.
Snow throwing hammer fists to the chest of Ruta. What's that going to do exactly?
Claud Snow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Snow manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Trent Ruta comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ruta has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
