Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ollie Evans (ranked 6920 p4p, 0 weight class) and Son Goku (ranked 6961 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans's entrance music is New Zealand National Anthem. A fine choice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku darts in trying to clinch
and Evans decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Goku's guard.
Goku looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Evans lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Evans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goku on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goku moves in looking to clinch but Evans pushes him off.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Evans manages to break the clinch.
Evans throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Goku tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Evans is in Goku's guard.

Evans is stalling in the full guard.

Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Evans dives in and scores a takedown into Goku's guard.
Evans might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Evans pushes Goku up against the cage in a clinch.

Evans gets control of Goku's arms and successfully pulls guard. Evans will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Goku wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.

Evans has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Goku off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Son Goku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Goku sneaks out the side door and pushes Evans away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Evans manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Goku on his heels. He'll look to pass Goku's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goku will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Evans chips away with some ground and pound.
Evans has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Evans wants to get up but he can't break Goku's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Goku is working an open guard so Evans takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Evans clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Evans.
Evans effectively controlling the action here.
Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Goku leaves Evans with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Goku is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Evans counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Evans.
Goku uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans instigates a clinch.
Evans's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Goku pushes Evans up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Evans manages to end up in side control.
Goku is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Evans off and has taken his back!

Even with his hooks in, Goku manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Goku gets his hands free as Evans looks to control.
Evans covering up well and avoiding damage.
Evans is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goku can do to turn this around?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Evans is trying to break free.
Evans prevents Goku from getting a body triangle.
Goku throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Goku controlling well, preventing Evans from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Son Goku will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Evans fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Goku to the ground. Evans is now in Goku's guard.
Goku has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Evans stands up from Goku's guard - Evans perhaps looking for a knockout.

Evans jumps guard and drags Goku to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Goku wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goku might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Evans haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Evans pulls Goku in close to his closed guard and prevents Goku from doing any damage or advancing position.

Evans seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Evans dives in and grabs Goku's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goku pushes down on Evans's head and hops out.
Evans fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Goku avoids it really well and circles away.

Evans clinches up with Goku and pushes him back against the cage.

Goku is working Evans over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Evans is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Goku presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Evans lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Goku backwards.
Goku's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Goku's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Goku is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Goku unloads a knee to the mid-section. Evans lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Evans has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Goku uses from the top position.
