Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taylor Boon (ranked 5821 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bloom (ranked 7722 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Bloom is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloom throws a looping overhand right but Boon ducks down to avoid it.
Boon throws a hook to the side of Bloom's head but Bloom sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boon has closed the distance and engaged Bloom in a clinch.
Bloom is looking to break free of the clinch but Boon has double underhooks.
Boon keeps control of Bloom as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Boon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bloom after a bit of a struggle.

Boon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bloom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boon circles away quickly and effectively.
Boon appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Bloom tries to clinch up but Boon circles away and keeps his distance.

Boon clinches up with Bloom and pushes him back against the cage.
Bloom is looking to break free of the clinch but Boon has double underhooks.
Bloom is trying to push Boon away but Boon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Boon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bloom smiles and moves away.

Bloom cracks a nice hook into Boon's ribs.

Bloom lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boon has hold of Bloom's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bloom manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
