These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Porfirio Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Philip Kazakov!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazakov connects with a solid leg kick.

Kazakov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kazakov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kazakov wants to stand but Watson is controlling his arm.
Watson is looking to regain half guard here but Kazakov keeps moving and retains side control.
Kazakov throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Watson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kazakov wants to take a breather but Watson is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Watson is refusing to be controlled, as Kazakov sits in half guard.
Kazakov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Watson preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Watson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kazakov drops Watson with a beautiful combination! Watson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kazakov is looking for the KO!


It looks like Porfirio Watson has been cut.

Kazakov closes the distance looking for a takedown. Watson stuffs it but Kazakov still has hold of him. Kazakov picks Watson up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Kazakov slams Watson to the floor and that's really hurt Watson - he doesn't know where he is! Kazakov throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Philip Kazakov!
