Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quintin Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cam Filkins Jr!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Filkins Jr cracks Hess with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Filkins Jr has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hess to stand back up!


It looks like Quintin Hess has been cut.

Filkins Jr gets a clinch.
Filkins Jr is trying to break the clinch but Hess has him pressed against the cage.
Hess unloads a knee to the mid-section.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hess content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Filkins Jr gets control of Hess's arms and successfully pulls guard. Filkins Jr will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hess throws a big right hand that misses.
Filkins Jr seems keen to control Hess's posture.
Filkins Jr avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Filkins Jr wants to control the position but Hess says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Hess thows a huge punch but Filkins Jr dodges it nicely.
Hess thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Filkins Jr's head.
Hess working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Hess is nestled in close to Filkins Jr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Quintin Hess will probably get the nod.

Filkins Jr has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hess's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cam Filkins Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Filkins Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hess throws a big right hand that misses.

Filkins Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hess doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hess manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hess keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Filkins Jr's head.
Hess has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hess has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Filkins Jr escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Filkins Jr!
Hess manages to work his way to half guard, despite Filkins Jr's best efforts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Filkins Jr dives in and scores a takedown into Hess's guard.

Hess has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Filkins Jr off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Quintin Hess overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hess cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Hess is landing with some decent strikes but Filkins Jr is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Hess lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hess fails to move to back control.
Hess lands a big shot there that rocks Filkins Jr but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hess lands a nice shot to the head.

Filkins Jr is in a horrible position here. Hess smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Hess cracks Filkins Jr with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Filkins Jr looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.

And that's the end of the fight!
Quintin Hess showed his dominance in that final round.
