PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hesam Khavari (ranked 6359 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam B Glenn (ranked 5484 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Hesam Khavari has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hesam Khavari seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam B Glenn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Glenn looking to score a takedown here. Khavari is defending well but Glenn drives through and ends up in Khavari's guard.
Khavari might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Khavari looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Glenn puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Glenn is looking to take a break and control but Khavari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Khavari is trying to control but can't.
Khavari blocking the ground and pound attempt from Glenn.

Khavari manages to get to full guard.
Glenn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Khavari thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Glenn's head.
Khavari is looking to stall here but Glenn recovers full guard.
Glenn lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Glenn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Glenn tries to stand and escape but Khavari is controlling the position.

Glenn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Glenn looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Khavari with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Khavari is trying to maintain the position but Glenn is very close to passing his half guard.
Khavari is looking to improve his position.

Glenn is looking for a kimura here.

Glenn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Glenn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Khavari doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Glenn.
Khavari knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Glenn on the ground.
Khavari wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Khavari is looking to control Glenn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Khavari avoid being mounted?
Glenn is keen to just control but Khavari is a slippery customer.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Khavari tries for a takedown but Glenn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Glenn throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khavari tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Glenn is in Khavari's guard.

Khavari is looking to sweep but instead, Glenn has passed into half guard.
Khavari holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Khavari trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Glenn trying to control but Khavari is having none of it.
Glenn has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Khavari's face.
Glenn lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Glenn prevents Khavari from getting the reversal.
Glenn wants to control the pace but Khavari is squirming around nicely.
Glenn pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Khavari is looking to get to half guard.

Glenn has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Khavari is forced to tap!
