Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Kownacki (ranked 7194 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maykol Yurk (ranked 4323 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomasz Kownacki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maykol Yurk!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yurk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kownacki throwing strikes from guard but Yurk blocks nicely.
Kownacki tries to stand but Yurk is controlling from the bottom.

Yurk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kownacki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kownacki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kownacki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Yurk looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Yurk goes for a double leg but Kownacki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kownacki continues to drive forward.

Kownacki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yurk to the ground. Kownacki is now in Yurk's guard.

Kownacki drops back looking for a leg! Yurk is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yurk manages to kick Kownacki off! Kownacki jumps back into Yurk's guard.

Kownacki is really struggling to control Yurk but he's trying to hold on to the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yurk is on top in guard.

Yurk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kownacki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Yurk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kownacki wants to stand but Yurk has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kownacki stands and throws Yurk's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kownacki wants to stand and escape but Yurk is having none of it.

Yurk slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Yurk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kownacki avoids it really well and circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kownacki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Yurk did well to prevent Kownacki getting side control.

Yurk is not content to let Kownacki control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kownacki not doing much here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kownacki throws a strike but Yurk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Yurk wants to control from the top but Kownacki keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yurk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kownacki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yurk, into his guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tomasz Kownacki will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Kownacki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yurk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Yurk throws a counter combo.

Kownacki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kownacki showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kownacki is trying to control the action in half guard but Yurk is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Yurk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kownacki is taking a breather. Yurk says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kownacki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yurk was covering up waiting for the punch and Kownacki finishes the takedown easily into guard.
