Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big Guns (ranked 1505 p4p, 189 weight class) and Shark Attack (ranked 1212 p4p, 148 weight class). Big Guns has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Guns tenderised Attack's leg. Attack is trying to keep his angry face on.
Attack swings for the body but Guns moves out of range.

Attack closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Guns is looking for a sweep.
Guns avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Attack.
Attack working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Guns postures up in Attack's guard and throws a big left but Attack blocks it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Attack wants to sweep here but Guns controlling him for the moment.
Attack is pulling down on Guns's head. It's preventing any offense from Guns, at least for the moment.
Guns engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Attack shoots and misses
and Guns counters with a nice uppercut.
Guns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Attack takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Attack shoots in and bounces Guns off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Guns is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Attack is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Attack shoots in for a double leg but Guns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Guns swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Guns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Attack can do to turn this around?

Attack clinches up with Guns and pushes him back against the cage.

Guns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Attack throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guns's waist but Guns gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Attack off to one side.

Attack takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Big Guns is winning the standup battle so far.
Guns's corner calls for a 1-2. Guns obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Shark Attack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Guns throws a sloppy head kick and Attack moves out of range easily.
Guns feints and then cracks Attack's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Attack down.

It looks like Shark Attack has been cut.

Attack forces Guns back against the cage and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Attack tries to throw a body punch but Guns avoids it by throwing Attack back against the cage.

Guns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Horrible takedown attempt by Attack or perhaps it was just good defense by Guns, which made it look bad.
Guns lands with an overhand left.
Good leg kick by Guns there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Guns makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Attack dives in and grabs Guns's left leg, looking for a takedown. Guns pushes down on Attack's head and hops out.
Big Guns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Attack is breathing heavily.
Attack tries to close the distance and clinch but Guns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Attack closes this distance looking for a takedown but Guns circles away.
Attack is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Guns rather than just go for the knockout.

Guns lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Guns, as that shot connected.
Attack is still on wobbly legs! Can Guns finish him?

Attack shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Guns throws a front kick that sends Attack stumbling back into the cage.
Attack seems to have recovered his senses.
Attack chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Guns can pounce on him.
Guns throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Guns lands a big right hook! Attack looks hurt but is still standing! Guns lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Attack falls down and Guns dives in with a huge hammer fist! Attack's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Guns runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

After winning the bout, Big Guns thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
