The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnkvist takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barnkvist connects with a right hand. Arcuri shakes it off.
Barnkvist moves in looking to clinch but Arcuri pushes him off.
Arcuri was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Arcuri swats away the attempt to clinch by Barnkvist.
Barnkvist keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Barnkvist ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arcuri moves away.
Arcuri feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Arcuri has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Barnkvist throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Arcuri slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Peter Barnkvist has been cut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Arcuri. Barnkvist does a little dance to reset his feet.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Barnkvist has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The crowd cheers as Arcuri lands an impressive looking overhand right. Barnkvist doesn't seem phased though.
Arcuri closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Barnkvist feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Arcuris jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Arcuri is defended easily by Barnkvist.

Horrible takedown attempt by Barnkvist or perhaps it was just good defense by Arcuri, which made it look bad.

Arcuri tightens his grip and picks Barnkvist up, before dumping him to the ground. Barnkvist manages to land in guard.

and Arcuri counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Arcuri shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Barnkvist lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Barnkvist is sitting in close to Arcuri's body. Arcuri has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Barnkvist is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Barnkvist is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Arcuri.
