Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devin Blanchard (ranked 8831 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bloody Dana (ranked 5973 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Devin Blanchard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bloody Dana!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dana closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dana lands in his opponent's guard.
Dana wants to stand but Blanchard is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dana controls from within his opponent's guard.

Blanchard is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dana slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dana must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dana tries to free his leg and advance position but Blanchard is retaining full guard.
Dana wants to control from the top but Blanchard keeps moving.
Dana throws a strike but Blanchard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Blanchard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blanchard's guard.

Blanchard is looking for a triangle but Dana pushes his legs off easily.

Blanchard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dana defends it easily.
Dana is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blanchard trying to keep a closed guard but Dana is proving a slippery customer.
Dana throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blanchard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dana pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Good work by Blanchard as he checks the leg kick.

Dana looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Dana is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blanchard doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dana.
Dana seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blanchard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blanchard tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Dana throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Dana looks to move to half guard but instead Blanchard has passed into mount! Damn!

Blanchard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dana defends it well.

Blanchard wants to work for an arm triangle but Dana is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Blanchard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Dana tries to roll over but Blanchard keeps him under control.
Blanchard throwing shots but Dana is blocking nicely.

Blanchard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dana defends it well.
Dana wants to improve his position but Blanchard is controlling well.

Blanchard is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dana doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Blanchard.

Blanchard is in a bad position with Dana working for a choke. Blanchard manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Dana has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Blanchard has passed into side control.
Dana is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Blanchard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Blanchard is chipping away with strikes.

Blanchard stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Dana throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Dana closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Blanchard swats away the attempt to clinch by Dana.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dana misses with a hook to the body

and Blanchard counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Blanchard gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Bloody Dana has been cut.

Dana jumps into guard, dragging Blanchard to the mat.

Blanchard loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Blanchard wants to stand but Dana has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Dana is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dana wants to sweep here but Blanchard controlling him for the moment.
Blanchard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Blanchard is in close to Dana's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Dana is trying to keep Blanchard in close.
Blanchard in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dana takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Blanchard working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dana doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dana manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dana is looking to stand up but Blanchard won't let him.
Dana wants to control from the top but Blanchard keeps moving.
Dana looking to sit in guard and control but Blanchard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dana controls Blanchard momentarily but Blanchard frees himself.
Blanchard wants to stand but Dana has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Dana has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Blanchard has passed into side control.
Dana is looking to reverse the position.

Dana is pushing Blanchard's head away, looking to escape. Blanchard manages to hold on to the position though.
