Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aspen Springfield (ranked 5102 p4p, 468 weight class) and Rubens Charles (ranked 4085 p4p, 387 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 6 losses; Rubens Charles!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.

Charles's coach down at Soul Supremacy Rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Charles's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Charles is trying to pull guard but Springfield turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Springfield has Charles pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Springfield pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Charles tumbling to the mat - Springfield dives into Charles's guard.

Springfield has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Charles has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Springfield is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Charles knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Charles for a finish.

We've been hearing good reports from Springfield's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
