Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bako Adamou (ranked 5804 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Johnson (ranked 3167 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Adamou. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson wants to clinch up but Adamou keeps it at a distance.
As Johnson looks to move away, Adamou throws a big counter combo but Johnson just gets out of the way.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adamou swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Johnson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Adamou just stands there and leans against the cage.

Johnson jumps guard but Adamou stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bako Adamou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Johnson.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Adamou walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Adamou tried to score with a low kick but Johnson checks it.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Adamou manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Adamou bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Adamou wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adamou really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Adamou sits in half guard.
Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Adamou pulls his head out easily.

Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Adamou is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Johnson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Adamou is looking to defend but Johnson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Adamou! Johnson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Adamou taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Derek Johnson!
A very excited looking Derek Johnson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
