These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Lambert.

It looks like Scott might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Scott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lambert gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Scott fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lambert avoids it really well and circles away.

Lambert feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lambert throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Scott was covering up waiting for the punch and Lambert finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Scott is looking to stand back up but Lambert counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Scott.

Scott is looking to control Lambert's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Scott avoid being mounted?

Lambert misses with a head shot. Scott uses the momentum to regain guard.
Lambert postures up in Scott's guard and throws a big left but Scott blocks it.
Lambert has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Scott is pulling down on Lambert's head. It's preventing any offense from Lambert, at least for the moment.
Scott is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lambert avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
