PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michel Colucci (ranked 3933 p4p, 422 weight class) and TJ Goodard (ranked 3026 p4p, 339 weight class). Colucci kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Le temps des cerises. Goodard has chosen Rise of the Titans by-DIMMU BORGIR as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michel Colucci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, TJ Goodard!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ben Hemmingworth and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodard shoots in looking for a takedown. Colucci tries to sprawl out of it but Goodard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Colucci manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Colucci closes the distance and clinches up with Goodard, looking for a takedown. Colucci pushes Goodard against the cage but Goodard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Colucci leaves Goodard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
It looked like Colucci was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Goodard.
Goodard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Goodard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Colucci. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goodard is bucking up trying to escape but Colucci cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Colucci has control of Goodard's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Goodard regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Michel Colucci will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Goodard rolls with it to try and escape but Colucci cranks on the arm and Goodard is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Michel Colucci decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
TJ Goodard was interviewed post fight and said 'Eh....you win some,you lose some I'm not done yet!!'.
