The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poole shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hoohuli's guard.

Poole throws a strike but Hoohuli rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Poole tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Poole jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hoohuli walks away with a smile on his face. Poole gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hoohuli lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Poole wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Poole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
