The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Abel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rodriguez.
Abel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rodriguez throws a body shot but no joy.

Abel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodriguez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Abel prevents Rodriguez from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abel is pushing down on Rodriguez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rodriguez is fighting to maintain full guard but Abel has managed to sneak the leg through.
Abel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodriguez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
