Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brain Moody!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erik Kronen!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moody rushes Kronen and presses him up against the cage.

Moody escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kronen throws a head kick that misses.

Kronen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kronen showed some decent athleticism there.
Kronen works his way into full mount!
Kronen controlling from the full mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kronen tries to control but Moody wriggling away.
Kronen cracks Moody with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Kronen wants to finish this one by submission but Moody is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kronen.

Kronen wants to control but Moody has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Kronen is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Moody still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Moody has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Moody throws an elbow but Kronen slips to the side and avoids it well.

Moody stands up and beckons Kronen to his feet.

Moody shoots in for a takedown but Kronen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Erik Kronen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kronen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Moody throws Kronen to one side and escapes!

Kronen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kronen showed some decent athleticism there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kronen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kronen wants to work for an arm triangle but Moody is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kronen prevents Moody from improving his position.

A close round but Erik Kronen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Moody fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kronen avoids it really well and circles away.

Kronen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moody, who protects the arm well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Moody holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Moody tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Moody regains half guard there - taking advantage of Kronen's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Kronen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Moody defends it well.

Kronen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Moody is just riding it out for now. Kronen eventually gives up the hold.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Moody wants to control the action here but instead Kronen manages to pass to full mount!
Kronen looking to control but Moody is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Moody slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Moody wants to control but Kronen is keeping busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kronen is trying to control the action in half guard but Moody is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erik Kronen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Moody's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Kronen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kronen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Moody uses from the top position.
Moody will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Moody has his hands clasped together around Kronen's back. He's all about the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kronen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Moody stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kronen to get to his feet.

Moody makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Moody swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Kronen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Moody's guard.

Moody manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Moody has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kronen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kronen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kronen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Moody!

Kronen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Kronen wants to stand but Moody is controlling his arm.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brain Moody showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kronen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
