The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sommer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Melton.
Melton scores with a head kick. Sommer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Melton bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Melton is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sommer knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sommer for a finish.

Sommer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jerrold Melton will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Melton walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Sommer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Melton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sommer turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sommer manages to end up in side control.

Sommer is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Melton's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Melton looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Melton lands a nice short elbow.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sommer gets back to full guard.

Melton drops back looking for a leg! Sommer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sommer manages to kick Melton off! Melton jumps back into Sommer's guard.
Melton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sommer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Melton is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sommer.
