Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Blake (ranked 1068 p4p, 172 weight class) and John Brophy (ranked 1178 p4p, 187 weight class). Blake comes to the cage accompanied by Cry of the Blackbirds. Brophy has chosen Last Caress - Metallica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Edward Blake has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brophy moves out of range of the body kick from Blake.
Brophy misses with an uppercut
and Blake counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Brophy ducks right into an uppercut from Blake.
Brophy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Blake.
Blake misses with a looping left.
A little jabbing left from Brophy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Blake lands a lovely overhand right.
Brophy scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Edward Blake has been cut.
Brophy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Blake throws a hook but Brophy blocks it.
Brophy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Blake swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brophy throws a lazy right hand but Blake sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Brophy misses with a body punch
and Blake counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Blake stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Blake throws a jab but it's blocked by Brophy.
A nice inside leg kick there by Blake. That's going to slow Brophy down.
Brophy misses with a looping right.
Blake throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brophy counters with a good low kick that Blake was not able to check.
Edward Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brophy connects with an inside leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Blake, as that shot connected.
A jab from Blake does it's job there.
Blake is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Brophy misses with a kick to the body.
Blake misses the shot to the body.

Blake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brophy throws out the jab.

Brophy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Blake clobbers Brophy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Blake takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

and Blake finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Brophy throws a lazy right hand but Blake sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Blake avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Blake sizes up Brophy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Blake is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Brophy looks to land a right hand but Blake moved out of range.
As Brophy backs away, Blake returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Brophy blocks a head kick by Blake.
Blake throws a sloppy head kick
and Brophy counters with a head kick that drops Blake to the mat! Blake scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Blake is rocked!
Blake swings widly with a right hand
and Brophy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Oh Blake is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A thudding body kick lands there by Brophy!
Blake is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brophy shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Blake takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Brophy sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Blake bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
