The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole uses good head movement to avoid the hook from De Belfort.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cole moves out of range of the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
De Belfort wants to land a leg kick but Cole is out of range.

The fighters are battling for position here. De Belfort manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Cole prevents De Belfort from getting back to his feet.
De Belfort keeping moving, preventing Cole from controlling successfully.
Cole would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cole looking to sit in guard and control but De Belfort gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

De Belfort with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cole can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as De Belfort controls the pace.
De Belfort is pushing down on Cole's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cole is fighting to maintain full guard but De Belfort has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with De Belfort in particular looking to stall.

De Belfort's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that De Belfort has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

De Belfort shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cole manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
De Belfort seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Cole really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
