Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Attish Mubeen (ranked 4392 p4p, 467 weight class) and Zhasulan Boranbayev (ranked 24537 p4p, 759 weight class). Attish Mubeen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Zhasulan Boranbayev's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Attish Mubeen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zhasulan Boranbayev!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boranbayev tries to clinch there but Mubeen circles away.
Boranbayev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mubeen paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mubeen has taken the fight to the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Mubeen manages to break the clinch.
Boranbayev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mubeen tries to avoid it but Boranbayev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mubeen to the ground. Mubeen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boranbayev swats away the attempt to clinch by Mubeen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mubeen wants to sweep here but Boranbayev controlling him for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That was a close round but I would say that Attish Mubeen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mubeen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mubeen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boranbayev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boranbayev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mubeen wants to sweep here but Boranbayev controlling him for the moment.

Mubeen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Boranbayev has picked Mubeen up and slammed him! Mubeen can't keep hold of the triangle and Boranbayev manages to pass to side control!
Boranbayev remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mubeen parries the strikes from Boranbayev easily there. Boranbayev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mubeen to escape.
