Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adriano Silva (ranked 3574 p4p, 160 weight class) and Kane Riggs (ranked 3955 p4p, 187 weight class). Adriano Silva had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adriano Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kane Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva shoots in and bounces Riggs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Silva wants to control from the top but Riggs keeps moving.

Silva gets to his feet. Riggs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Silva throws a body punch but Riggs moves out of range.

Despite the aggression on Riggs's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riggs shoots in looking for a takedown but Silva manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riggs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Riggs closes the distance and clinches.
Riggs jumps guard but Silva turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Riggs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Silva throws a nice looking combination but Riggs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.

Silva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Riggs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Riggs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Silva darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Silva drops down looking for a counter takedown but Riggs sprawls and moves away.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Riggs throws a sloppy head kick

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've been informed that Riggs has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Riggs's guard.

Silva decides to stand and escape the position.
Riggs wants to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silva digs a good hook to Riggs's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Riggs shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Riggs tries to land a leg kick but Silva saw it coming and moves away.
Silva attempts a counter takedown but Riggs avoids it well and moves away.

Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Silva is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Riggs's shoulder. That is not cool.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Riggs get back to his feet.
Silva stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Riggs looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Riggs drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Adriano Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Riggs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Silva cracks Riggs with a big right hand but Riggs just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Riggs doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Riggs to get to his feet.
Silva checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Riggs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Riggs persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Riggs is out of range.

Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
Riggs throws a counter combo.
Silva lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Riggs shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.

Riggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silva stays in close to Riggs's body and controls the position.

Riggs is working an open guard so Silva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Riggs's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Silva connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Riggs scrambles back to his feet.

Silva is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Riggs manages to avoid it.
