Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelley Roth (ranked 8170 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Patrick (ranked 5805 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kelley Roth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Patrick!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roth throws a hook to the side of Patrick's head but Patrick sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Patrick is looking for the big counter here.

Patrick closes the distance and clinches.
Roth really is a fat lump.
Patrick lands a right hand that snaps the head of Roth backwards.
Roth looking to stall.
Roth looking to stall.

Patrick turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Patrick manages to end up in side control.
Patrick tries to stand but Roth is controlling his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roth wants to control but Patrick postures up.

Patrick is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Roth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Roth might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Patrick tries to score with some ground and pound. Roth controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Patrick stands up and beckons Roth to his feet.

Patrick rushes Roth and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Patrick prevents Roth from breaking the clinch.

Patrick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Patrick falls off balance throwing a combination
and Roth counters with a nice uppercut.

Patrick closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Patrick lands in his opponent's guard.
Patrick has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Patrick wants to pass the guard but Roth is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Patrick makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Patrick lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Patrick scoring with punches to the head and body.
Patrick trying to control but Roth is working from the bottom.
Patrick has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roth is proving hard to escape from.
Patrick chips away with some ground and pound.
Patrick makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Patrick in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Roth has momentary wrist control but Patrick slips an elbow through the middle.
Roth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Patrick would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Roth working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Patrick.
Patrick scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Patrick is working Roth over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Patrick wants to get up but he can't break Roth's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Patrick postures up in Roth's guard and throws a big left but Roth blocks it.
Roth is breathing heavily.
Patrick landing with the ground and pound.

Patrick gets to his feet. Roth looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Oh Roth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Patrick instigates a clinch.
Patrick slows down the pace here.
Roth seems to have got his legs back now.
Patrick is pushing Roth up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Patrick working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Patrick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Patrick misses with a double jab
and Roth counters with a stiff right hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Patrick dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Roth enables Patrick to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Roth manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Patrick throws a strike but Roth rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Roth is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Patrick is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Patrick has escaped and now he's on top!

Patrick wanted to stand there but Roth had control of the position.

Patrick lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Patrick gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Patrick clinches up against the cage.
Roth unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Roth is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Patrick manages to pull guard.
Patrick wants to sweep but no luck.
Patrick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Patrick keeping moving, preventing Roth from controlling successfully.
Patrick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roth's guard.

Roth looking to control.
Roth can't keep his opponent in guard - Patrick advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Patrick is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Patrick wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Roth uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Patrick throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Patrick trying to control the position from guard on top but Roth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Patrick has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Roth is proving hard to escape from.

Patrick throws an elbow that misses. Roth uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Patrick's guard. Nice move by Roth!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patrick is on top in guard.

Max Patrick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Roth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Patrick is trying to drag Roth to the mat but Roth just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Patrick takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Patrick is trying to pull guard but Roth turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Kelley Roth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Patrick.

Roth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Patrick pinned against the cage. Patrick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Roth wants to clinch.
Kelley Roth is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Patrick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Roth manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Patrick drops down looking for an ankle pick but Roth pulls his leg out and moves away.
Patrick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
No luck for Patrick with that takedown attempt.
Roth swats away the attempt to clinch by Patrick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Patrick is trying to pull guard but Roth turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Patrick is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Roth is defending well.

Roth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roth wants to clinch but Patrick slips to the side

and Patrick decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roth's guard.
Patrick wanted to stand there but Roth had control of the position.
Patrick with a flurry of punches that miss.
Patrick works over Roth with some ground and pound from guard.
Patrick scoring with some ground and pound.
Roth has a closed guard, preventing Patrick from standing up.

Patrick drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Roth manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Patrick has Roth in his guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Roth's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Roth cracks Patrick with a solid left hand.
Roth controls from within his opponent's guard.
Roth stops Patrick from standing up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Patrick is trying to keep Roth in close.
Roth with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Roth wants to control from the top but Patrick keeps moving.
Patrick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Max Patrick.
I've got Patrick winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
