Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Second (ranked 5425 p4p, 638 weight class) and Joel Romero (ranked 4579 p4p, 570 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mr Second!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Romero!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Second throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Romero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Second's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Romero prevents Second from getting back to his feet.
Romero is looking to work some ground and pound but Second has wrist control.
Second keeping moving, preventing Romero from controlling successfully.
Romero slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Second wants to get back to his feet but Romero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Romero throws a strike but Second rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Romero looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Second won't allow Romero to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Romero throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Second trying to stand up but can't free himself from Romero's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Romero has his foot on Second's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Second works his way back into a safe position though.

Second stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Second cracks Romero with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Romero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Second throws out the jab.
Second looks to land a right hand but Romero moved out of range.
Romero feints the counter takedown.
Second misses with a lunging right hand

and Romero counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Romero.
Second wants to stand up but Romero is controlling him.

Second is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Romero trying to control the position from guard on top but Second is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Second is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Romero is controlling him.
Second preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Romero trying to control the position from guard on top but Second is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Romero is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Romero stands and throws Second's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Second is trying to buck Romero off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Second takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Romero has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Second!
Second is trying to stand up.
Second looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Romero trying to control but Second is having none of it.
Romero controlling the position easily from mount.
Second tries to buck Romero off but he can't manage it.

Romero is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Second can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Second is squirming around, avoiding Romero's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Second trying desperately to get to his feet.
BOOM! Romero connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Romero cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Romero wants to finish this one by submission but Second is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Romero.

Romero has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Second is forced to tap!
