Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Downs (ranked 8763 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Beausoeil (ranked 5867 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beausoeil tries a low kick but Downs avoids it.
Beausoeil just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromDowns.
Beausoeil throws a sloppy head kick and Downs moves out of range easily.
Beausoeil throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Downs is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Beausoeil.
Beausoeil tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Downs feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Beausoeil looks to land a body kick but Downs moved away.
Downs blocks the body kick.
Downs fires out a quick counter leg kick but Beausoeil just manages to avoid it.
Beausoeil turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Beausoeil closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Downs has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Beausoeil is on him like a limpet, forcing Downs back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Downs wants to get back to striking at distance but Beausoeil won't allow it.
Downs has had enough of the clinch but Beausoeil keeps him there for the moment.
Downs wants to break free but Beausoeil has control.
Beausoeil prevents Downs from breaking the clinch.

Downs lands with a short shot to the head.

Downs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Beausoeil looks to throw a body kick
and Downs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Beausoeil manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Downs on his heels. He'll look to pass Downs's guard now, I'm sure.

Downs wriggles free and stands up.
A bone on bone clash there as Downs blocks the leg kick.

Beausoeil looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Downs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Beausoeil off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Beausoeil throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Downs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Beausoeil to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Downs manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Downs takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Downs thumps Beausoeil with a low kick.
Beausoeil falls off balance throwing a combination
and Downs counters with a good low kick that Beausoeil was not able to check.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Beausoeil.

Downs explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Downs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Beausoeil did well to prevent Downs getting side control.

Downs shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Beausoeil is looking to get back to is feet but Downs passes into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Downs happy to just control the position for now.
Downs landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Beausoeil misses with a jab to the body
and Downs counters with an outside leg kick.

Beausoeil shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Downs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Downs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beausoeil with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Downs stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Beausoeil to get to his feet.
Joe Beausoeil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beausoeil is breathing heavily.

Beausoeil looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Downs!

Downs bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Downs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Downs cracks Beausoeil with a big right hand but Beausoeil just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Downs looks up at the clock and then as Beausoeil takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Downs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Downs stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Downs fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Downs is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Downs lands a right hand that snaps the head of Beausoeil backwards.

Downs decides to pull guard.

Beausoeil has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Downs to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Beausoeil is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Downs pulls down on the head and he's put Beausoeil to sleep! This one is all over!
