Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Flukey Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lavonde Tyrone!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyrone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stokes as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown attempt by Tyrone or perhaps it was just good defense by Stokes, which made it look bad.
Nice takedown defense from Stokes. No joy for Tyrone on that attempt.
Flukey Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lavonde Tyrone.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tyrone.
Stokes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Tyrone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stokes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Stokes is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Tyrone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyrone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stokes.
Stokes lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lavonde Tyrone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tyrone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A slow jab from Stokes misses its intended target.
Stokes keeps the fight on the outside.
Tyrone misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stokes swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Tyrone counters with a solid body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stokes cracks Tyrone with a right hand to the side of the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stokes, as that shot connected.
Stokes scores with a decent looking hook.
Tyrone is rocked!
Tyrone fails with the takedown
and Stokes counters with a huge left! Tyrone is in big trouble! He's backing up but Stokes isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Tyrone from any more damage. A dominating finish by Stokes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flukey Stokes!
